Breeding
Ageing in French oak barrels, 50% new, for 12 months
On the eye
Deep, intense purple robe with brilliant clarity and depth.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet revealing dark fruits—blackberry and blackcurrant—with notes of cherry. The distinctive Graves signature emerges: smoke, liquorice and freshly roasted coffee, layered with subtle mineral notes.
In the mouth
The wine displays admirable density from the opening. A well-structured palate with fine-grained tannins and good length, the fruit flavours developing with air. Balanced acidity supports the wine's architecture.
M. Francois
This wine's structure and mineral character make it an excellent companion to game dishes, particularly venison with rich sauces. The wine's complexity also rewards careful cellaring, developing further nuance over five to eight years. Serve at 16–17°C to appreciate its full aromatic range.
