A white from vines of remarkable age

  • This wine displays considerable structure and richness. The concentration of fruit reflects the maturity of the vineyard, delivering a white of substance rather than delicacy. The phenolic ripeness suggests this is a serious expression of the terroir.
  • The wine's weight and aromatic profile make it a natural companion to Mediterranean cookery. Consider it with herb-crusted fish, roasted vegetables, or dishes featuring olive oil and garlic as foundational elements.
  • Patience will reward the cellar. This is not a wine for immediate consumption. Allow it several years in bottle to develop complexity and secondary notes. The structure suggests a decade or more of graceful evolution ahead.

In the mouth
The palate shows good volume and persistence. White stone fruits carry through with a textural quality that suggests extended skin contact or élevage. The finish is clean and moderately long, with a slight saline note.
On the nose
White peach and apricot dominate, supported by almond blossom and broom flower. The bouquet is floral without being delicate, with a mineral undertone that speaks to the Catalan terroir.
On the eye
Pale golden hue with hints of deeper amber at the rim, suggesting maturity in the vineyard.
Breeding
On lees for 5 to 8 months
M. Francois
This wine performs admirably with poultry dishes featuring coconut or cream-based sauces. The aromatic weight stands up to the richness without being overwhelmed. It would equally suit a simply roasted chicken with herbs, where its mineral character and fruit expression can take centre stage. Serve at 10-12°C.
