A defining voice of the Margaux appellation

  • Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, Rauzan-Ségla holds a position of considerable distinction within Margaux. The vineyard's terroir and consistent quality have earned it recognition amongst serious collectors and merchants alike.
  • This vintage demonstrates the structure and balance characteristic of the finest Margaux. Wines from this château develop beautifully over ten to twenty years in bottle, revealing greater complexity and refinement with time in the cellar.
  • The hallmark of Rauzan-Ségla is its elegance and finesse. Rather than power, the wine expresses itself through silky texture, refined tannins, and a graceful palate that speaks to the purity of its terroir.

Product features : Château Rauzan-Ségla 2020 Margaux

In the mouth
Silky in texture with admirable balance between fruit, acidity, and fine-grained tannins. The palate is refined rather than heavy, with a persistent finish that invites further contemplation.
On the nose
Red and dark fruit aromas—cassis and plum—mingle with floral notes and subtle spice. Beneath lies a mineral, earthy character that speaks to the gravelly soils of the Left Bank.
On the eye
Deep garnet, with the colour depth and clarity typical of a well-structured Margaux.
Breeding
French oak barrels for 18 to 20 months with 50% new wood
M. Francois
I recommend laying this wine down for at least five to eight years before opening. The 2020 vintage has the structure to develop gracefully in the cellar, and patience will reward you with greater aromatic complexity and a softer, more integrated palate. It is a wine that will age well for two decades or more, should you wish to hold it longer.
