The pure expression of Côtes de Bourg terroir

  • Château Roc de Cambes occupies the finest hillsides of Côtes de Bourg, overlooking the Gironde. The argilo-calcareous terroir mirrors that of Bordeaux's greatest growths, conferring the wine considerable complexity and aromatic depth.
  • Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is rich yet elegant, displaying dark fruit, preserved cherry and cocoa. The Cabernet contributes structure and spice, achieving an accomplished balance between power and refinement.
  • Roc de Cambes possesses exceptional ageing potential. Approachable young for its generous fruit and silken texture, it develops admirably in bottle, acquiring the secondary aromas of forest floor, leather and truffle characteristic of fine Bordeaux.

Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels (50% new) for 18 to 20 months, imparting subtle notes of vanilla, toasted oak and fine aromatic complexity
On the eye
Deep garnet-red robe with purple highlights
On the nose
Rich and layered bouquet: dark plums, blackcurrant and truffle, with undertones of liquorice, tobacco leaf and cedarwood—the hallmark of serious Bordeaux.
In the mouth
Ample and silken on the palate, with fine, elegant tannins. Ripe dark fruits—cassis and blackberry—mingle with preserved cherry, tobacco and dark chocolate, finishing long and persistent with well-judged freshness.
M. Francois
Château Roc de Cambes represents the best of what Côtes de Bourg can achieve: richness, elegance and genuine depth. Its silken structure, refined tannins and complex fruit-and-spice profile rival many a grander Bordeaux appellation. This is a wine of serious ageing potential, ideal with roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses. In the cellar, it will reveal further complexity over years. A fine discovery for those seeking authentic terroir-driven Bordeaux. — Nicolas François
