Seven generations of passionate winemaking in white Burgundy

  • The Bouzereau family has tended these vineyard parcels since 1988, developing a profound understanding of their terroir. This continuity of stewardship ensures consistency and depth in every vintage, reflecting the philosophy of a seventh-generation domaine.
  • The domaine practises reasoned viticulture, balancing traditional methods with contemporary understanding of soil and plant health. This measured approach yields grapes of genuine character, without the extremes of either industrial or overly interventionist farming.
  • Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru represents the pinnacle of the appellation's white wine expression. This premier cru designation acknowledges the site's superior drainage, aspect, and mineral composition—qualities that elevate the wine beyond village-level offerings.

In the mouth
The palate exhibits remarkable balance between richness and acidity. Purity of flavour dominates, with white stone fruits and a saline minerality creating a wine of genuine precision. The finish is clean and persistent.
On the nose
White flowers and orchard fruit lead the aromatic profile, with white peach and pear notes. Citrus zest and a mineral undertone—characteristic of Blagny's limestone-rich terroir—provide structure and precision to the bouquet.
On the eye
Pale golden yellow with subtle green highlights, suggesting youth and freshness.
Breeding
16 months in oak barrels (25% new oak)
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with noble fish preparations—turbot, sole, or halibut prepared simply to allow the wine's complexity to shine. Langoustines and other shellfish of quality are equally well-matched. The wine's mineral backbone and acidity make it an excellent accompaniment to seafood-based dishes where subtlety is valued over richness.
