Gros manseng, Sauvignon

The hallmark of Alain Brumont's winemaking craft

  • A refreshing white with genuine thirst-quenching qualities. The interplay between residual sweetness and natural acidity creates a wine of considerable finesse and balance, ideal for those seeking character beyond the conventional.
  • Gros Manseng imparts structure and freshness characteristic of the variety. Its inherent minerality and crisp backbone provide definition and length, whilst maintaining the wine's approachable, elegant profile.
  • Sauvignon contributes aromatic complexity: floral notes, citrus and yellow stone fruits that enliven the palate and add dimension to the blend.

Product features : La Gascogne d'Alain Brumont - Cotes de Gascogne Gros Manseng Doux 2022 — Côtes de Gascogne

Breeding
Brief ageing in stainless steel on fine lees. No oak contact to preserve the wine's original fruit purity and varietal tension.
On the eye
Pale gold in colour, presenting a luminous, inviting appearance.
On the nose
Floral notes predominate on the nose, accompanied by citrus and yellow stone fruits. The aromatics are delicate yet expressive, suggesting both freshness and ripe fruit character.
In the mouth
The palate reveals the Gros Manseng's signature qualities: length, freshness, and equilibrium between residual sweetness and acidity. The wine finishes clean and balanced, with no heaviness.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine character and relief, eschewing the bland conformity of many commercial whites. Versatile at table: aperitif, white meats, goat's cheese, Roquefort, or fruited desserts. Its natural sweetness and acidity make it equally suited to foie gras.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
