Certified sustainable viticulture from a rare Saint-Amour terroir

  • This is a wine of poise and freshness, displaying the characteristic balance that defines the finest expressions of Saint-Amour. The interplay of ripe fruit and refined structure rewards both immediate enjoyment and careful consideration.
  • The wine's natural equilibrium makes it a versatile companion to the table. It pairs with equal ease alongside roasted poultry, lighter meat dishes, and a range of soft cheeses, making it a genuinely food-friendly choice for varied menus.
  • The les Champs Grilles vineyard represents merely one per cent of the Saint-Amour appellation, making it a distinctly rare terroir. This schistose granite soil imparts a particular minerality and textural refinement that distinguishes the wine.

Breeding
Vinification: Traditional Beaujolais semi-carbonic fermentation with two daily pump-overs, maceration of 10 to 12 days in concrete vats, no chaptalization, minimal sulphur dioxide. The wine is aged in large wooden foudres for 5 to 8 months.
On the eye
Ruby-hued with purple reflections, the wine presents a bright, luminous appearance in the glass.
On the nose
The bouquet expresses a diverse array of red fruits alongside floral notes, particularly violet. The aromatics are clean and inviting, speaking to the wine's freshness and careful vinification.
In the mouth
On the palate, the wine reveals itself as pure and linear, with excellent balance between fruit, perfume and tannin structure. The schistose granite foundation provides substance and silky tannins. Red fruits dominate—cherry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry—with a persistent, satisfying finish.
M. Francois
Serve with roasted red and white meats, game birds, and soft cheeses such as Camembert or Saint-Marcellin. The wine's balance and moderate alcohol make it equally suitable for lighter fare and charcuterie boards. Decant briefly if serving from a cool cellar.
