Syrah 70%, Grenache 26%, Cinsault 4%

A respected Languedoc domaine of considerable standing

  • Syrah-driven and commanding, this wine displays the hallmarks of serious winemaking: dark fruit intensity, pepper and spice notes, underpinned by structured tannins that Grenache and Cinsault refine with subtle elegance and restraint.
  • This is a wine of sufficient depth and balance to reward cellaring. A few years in a cool, dark corner will allow its component parts to knit together and develop further complexity.
  • The vineyard parcels take their name from a long-vanished tree that once dominated the horizon—a landmark now existing only in memory and in the character of the wine it produced.

Product features : Domaine Gayda - Chemin de Moscou 2021 — Languedoc — Organic

In the mouth
The palate is welcoming and open, layered with forest fruit, spice and mineral undertones that extend through a lengthy finish. The structure is generous without heaviness.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet of dark berries, white pepper, cinnamon and warm spice, with a floral note of violet emerging on the second nosing.
On the eye
Deep, violet-tinged robe, nearly opaque at the core.
Breeding
Aged 21 months in barrel, one-third Syrah in new Burgundy oak for 9 months, Grenache and Cinsault in demi-muids and large foudres for 9 months, then blending of the finest barrels of each variety followed by 12 months' maturation of the final blend in the same vessels.
M. Francois
A versatile table wine suited to game birds, roasted poultry, and mature cheeses. Its weight and tannin structure make it equally at home with hearty autumn fare or alongside a well-aged Comté. Serve at 16–17°C.
