A domaine of considerable standing

  • Syrah-led and commanding, this wine merits a place in any serious cellar. Dark fruits, pepper and spice are woven through a firm tannic structure, whilst Grenache and Cinsault lend refinement and elegance to the whole.
  • This is a wine that rewards patience. Cellaring for several years will allow the components to integrate further, developing additional complexity and depth.
  • The vineyard parcels take their name from a long-vanished tree that once dominated the horizon—a modest reminder of the land's history and character.

Product features : Domaine Gayda - Chemin de Moscou 2021 — Languedoc — Organic

In the mouth
The palate is generous and welcoming, offering dark forest fruits interwoven with spice and subtle mineral undertones. The wine carries good length, with a satisfying dry finish.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet of blackcurrant and plum, with white pepper, cinnamon and warm spice notes, finishing with a whisper of violet.
On the eye
Deep violet-tinged robe, nearly opaque in the glass.
Breeding
Aged 21 months in barrel, one third Syrah in new Burgundian oak for 9 months, Grenache and Cinsault in demi-muids and large foudres for 9 months, then blending of the finest barrels of each variety followed by 12 months' maturation of the final blend in the same vessels.
M. Francois
A versatile table wine that pairs well with game birds, roasted poultry, and mature cheeses. The structure and spice make it particularly suited to autumnal fare and hearty preparations. Serve at 16-17°C.
