The second wine of Château Potensac

  • Produced under the exacting standards of the Delon family, whose portfolio includes Château Léoville Las Cases, Clos du Marquis and Château Nénin. This ensures consistent quality and rigorous selection.
  • A wine of considerable charm and balance, offering immediate appeal without sacrificing structure. The fruit is generous, the tannins refined, and the overall impression one of understated elegance.
  • Whilst the grand vin of Château Potensac ages gracefully over decades, Chapelle de Potensac offers the pleasure of drinking now, or cellaring for a further five to eight years as it develops greater complexity.

In the mouth
The palate reveals a savoury structure with well-integrated tannins and good weight. Ripe dark fruit carries through to a fresh, lingering finish that avoids any hint of over-extraction or heaviness.
On the nose
Aromatic and inviting, with prominent cassis and blackcurrant fruit, underpinned by subtle oak and a whisper of violets. The bouquet is clean and well-defined, speaking of careful élevage.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby with a deep garnet rim, suggesting maturity without heaviness.
Breeding
Ageing for 12 to 16 months in French oak barrels with 30% new wood
M. Francois
Chapelle de Potensac is an ideal companion to a broad range of dishes: roasted poultry, lamb, beef stews, and even well-aged cheeses. Its balance and moderate alcohol make it remarkably versatile at table. A wine that rewards attention without demanding it.

CHATEAU POTENSAC

Set at Ordonnac on the high ground of the North Médoc, Château Potensac extends across 84 hectares of clay-gravel ridges over a limestone subsoil, at the heart of the Médoc appellation. Passed down through generations of Delon women, this château produces exclusively red wines blending Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Petit Verdot — assembled with a precision and consistency that have made it one of the most reliable addresses in the Médoc. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the integrity of its terroir, the rigour of its blending, and the proven ability of its wines to age with real distinction. A dependable choice for those who seek the Médoc in its most classical expression.
