Old vines, concentrated character, elegant structure

  • This 1er Cru from Domaine Sarrazin draws its character from mature vines planted on choice terroir. The extended growing season concentrates the fruit, yielding a wine of considerable depth and aromatic complexity.
  • Pure Pinot Noir, this Givry displays the refined structure and layered complexity characteristic of Burgundy's finest expressions. The balance between fruit and tannin is assured and well-defined.
  • Pair with duck confit, beef bourguignon, or aged cheeses. The wine's structure and aromatic breadth complement rich, savoury dishes with natural grace and restraint.

Breeding
Aged for 12 to 15 months in oak barrels (approximately 30-40% new oak)
On the eye
Deep ruby with garnet highlights, suggesting maturity and concentration.
On the nose
Expressive bouquet of ripe red fruits, violet, with subtle notes of liquorice and smoke. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing further complexity.
In the mouth
Silky tannins frame flavours of black cherry and raspberry, with understated spice and forest floor notes. The palate shows good length and a refined, dry finish.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine elegance that rewards those who appreciate Pinot Noir's subtlety. The old vines have imparted concentration without heaviness. Drink now with pleasure, or cellar for five to eight years to observe the gradual evolution of its aromatic profile.
