Breeding
Often 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels from multiple vintages (minimal new wood to preserve the terroir character). Ageing takes place in the estate's underground cellars, providing ideal temperature and humidity conditions.
On the eye
Deep ruby colour with excellent clarity and definition.
On the nose
The bouquet opens generously, with pronounced stone fruit character—plum and damson—alongside subtle herbal notes. The nose suggests both ripeness and restraint.
In the mouth
The tannin structure is firm yet noble, never aggressive. Limestone minerality runs through the palate, providing vibration and elegance that prevents the wine from becoming monolithic. The finish is clean and persistent.
Gambier have achieved something noteworthy here: a Cabernet Franc with the architectural integrity of a grand Bordeaux, yet retaining the freshness of the Loire. This is a wine of genuine class. Serve with charcuterie, white meats, or simply as an aperitif wine of substance.
