Product features : Domaine Laurent Gauthier Morgon Cote du Py 2022

In the mouth
A wine of considerable structure and body. The palate shows complexity and richness, with firm tannins providing backbone and persistence. The finish is clean and lingering, with good balance between fruit and mineral character.
On the nose
Aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and wild strawberry, with subtle mineral undertones reflecting the granite terroir. The bouquet develops with air, revealing layers of red fruit and gentle spice.
On the eye
Deep garnet with violet reflections
Breeding
Aged 3-4 months in oak foudre
M. Francois
A natural companion to dishes in rich sauces and red meat preparations. The wine's weight and structure make it particularly suited to beef stews, game birds and charcuterie. Equally rewarding as a considered glass on its own, especially after a year or two in bottle.

DOMAINE LAURENT GAUTHIER

Rooted on the Côte du Py at Villié-Morgon, Domaine Laurent Gauthier stands at the heart of the Morgon appellation, where blue granite, schist and volcanic soils give Gamay a depth rarely found elsewhere in Beaujolais. Founded in 1834 and passed down through the generations, the estate was taken on by Laurent in 1991; his sons Jason and Elie now work alongside him — a continuity of family stewardship that speaks for itself. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision of its terroir expression, the coherence of its range across red, white and rosé, and a character firmly removed from négociant Beaujolais. For anyone seeking the true face of Morgon, these are bottles worth knowing.
