In the mouth
Ample and fleshy on the palate, yet refined. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without harshness, balanced by discreet acidity and a silken texture. The aromatic persistence is notably long, revealing additional complexity with each sip.
On the nose
Intense and layered bouquet. Concentrated dark red and black fruit—cherries, blackberries, blackcurrant—mingle with vanilla and spice notes. Earthy undertones of forest floor and violet emerge, with hints of leather developing with age.
On the eye
Deep ruby, approaching garnet at the rim. Colour suggests maturity and concentration.
Breeding
80 to 100% new oak barrels
A wine of considerable pedigree, suited to dishes of similar stature. Consider it alongside beef tartare with truffle, or duck breast with morel mushrooms. The wine's structure and elegance also reward contemplation on its own, particularly as it continues to evolve in bottle.

Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret is a family wine estate in Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits (Burgundy). Around 33 hectares of vines. Grapes: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Grand crus: Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, Clos de Vougeot. Extensive premier cru holdings: Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vougeot, Savigny-lès-Beaune. One of Burgundy's most richly endowed grand cru estates.
