In the mouth
Powerful yet elegant, the palate combines richness with refinement. Velvety tannins provide structure without harshness, whilst the wine maintains excellent balance between fruit and acidity throughout.
On the nose
The Syrah character emerges clearly: dark plum and blackberry, with subtle white pepper and a mineral undertone reflecting the schist soils. A whisper of garrigue adds complexity.
On the eye
Brilliant deep garnet, with a luminous quality typical of well-made Cornas.
Breeding
18 months in oak barrels (30% new)
A wine of considerable versatility at table. It pairs beautifully with roasted red meats and charcuterie, where its structure complements richness admirably. Equally compelling with roasted game birds such as quail, where the mineral character and acidity provide welcome counterpoint.

DOMAINE PIERRE GAILLARD
Domaine Pierre Gaillard is a wine estate in Malleval (Loire), Northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1986 by Pierre Gaillard (co-founder of Les Vins de Vienne). Around 25 hectares on steep granitic hillsides. Grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Roussanne. Appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph. Also producing in Faugères (Languedoc).
