The second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion

  • This wine shares the harmonic balance and aromatic profile of its grand frère, offering the same refined character that defines the château's terroir in Pessac-Léognan.
  • A wine built for the cellar. The structure and depth here reward patience, developing complexity over years whilst maintaining the elegance that distinguishes this appellation.
  • A bottle worthy of discovery. Often overlooked in favour of the grand vin, La Chapelle deserves serious consideration from those seeking genuine Pessac-Léognan character.

Product features : La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion 2022 — Pessac-Léognan

In the mouth
A refined balance between structured tannins and the wine's natural fruit expression. Ripe red fruits dominate, with a texture that is both generous and measured.
On the nose
The bouquet reveals ripe red and dark fruits—cassis and redcurrant—alongside subtle notes of smoke and toasted oak that add complexity and depth.
On the eye
Ruby with violet hues, evolving towards brick as the wine matures
Breeding
Oak barrel ageing of 18 to 22 months in 20 to 25% new wood
M. Francois
A wine of genuine merit at table. The structure and weight suit lamb particularly well—a carré d'agneau with herbs will find an ideal partner here. The tannins are sufficiently resolved to complement rather than dominate the meat, whilst the fruit provides the necessary richness. This is proper food wine, not a curiosity.
