Premier Grand Cru Classé: elegance and structure in the glass

  • This 2022 vintage demonstrates the hallmark elegance and balance for which Canon is recognised. The vineyard's mature vines, averaging twenty-five years, produce wines of considerable refinement and depth, reflecting the finest terroir of Saint-Émilion's Right Bank.
  • The average age of the vines—twenty-five years—ensures optimal concentration and complexity. This maturity allows for the expression of the appellation's characteristic mineral notes alongside ripe red fruit, creating wines of genuine substance and ageing potential.
  • A wine of genuine cellar merit. The 2022 Canon possesses the structure and balance to develop beautifully over the coming years, rewarding those with patience and proper storage conditions. A considered addition to any serious wine collection.

CHÂTEAU CANON

Established on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion (Gironde), Château Canon covers 34 hectares of clay-limestone over a base of starred limestone, at the heart of one of Bordeaux's most distinguished appellations. Founded in 1760 by the privateer Jacques Kanon, the château was acquired in 1996 by the Wertheimer family — owners of Maison Chanel — who undertook a thorough restructuring of both vineyard and cellars. The estate has held organic certification from the 2024 vintage. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture, the clarity of its long-term vision, and the precision of its Merlot and Cabernet Franc blends, which show a notably fine texture. A reliable reference for the discerning Saint-Émilion enthusiast.
