WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | MARGAUX ROUGE
Bottle of : 0.75L

The second wine of a Grand Cru Classé, without the wait

  • Alter Ego offers the character of Château Palmer in a more approachable format. This second wine captures the essence of the estate's terroir with the same rigorous selection and winemaking discipline, yet with a more immediate appeal.
  • A wine of considerable finesse and balance. The palate displays fresh red fruit with a supple, rounded structure, combining the precision of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot with the generosity of Merlot. Croquant and juicy on the finish.
  • Alter Ego demonstrates how the complexity of Margaux's left-bank terroir—its gravelly plateau and clay subsoil—expresses itself through measured élevage and thoughtful blending. A testament to Palmer's winemaking philosophy.

Product features : Chateau Palmer Alter Ego 2022 — Margaux

Breeding
Approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, with a moderate proportion of new wood (around 25-30%) to preserve the fruit's brightness
On the eye
Deep ruby red with good intensity of colour
On the nose
Aromatic intensity centred on red fruits—cassis and cherry—with delicate floral notes that speak to the wine's elegance and youth. The bouquet develops with air.
In the mouth
The palate reveals the finesse of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, framed by the voluptuous character of Merlot. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without heaviness. A wine of poise and definition.
M. Francois
Alter Ego pairs beautifully with red meat preparations, particularly those with sauce—beef en sauce, coq au vin, or game dishes. Its balance and moderate alcohol make it equally suited to lighter fare: duck confit, lamb, or even well-aged poultry. Drink now through 2032.
