A wine of crystalline purity from the heart of Burgundy

  • This is a distinguished expression from Domaine Saumaize-Michelin, one of Viré-Clessé's most respected producers. The domaine's commitment to expressing the mineral character of their terroir shines through in every bottle.
  • A pure Chardonnay that demonstrates the elegance and finesse for which this appellation is prized. The fruit is restrained and refined, allowing the wine's structure and minerality to take centre stage.
  • Les Halles de Quercamps sources directly from the domaine, ensuring you benefit from merchant pricing whilst supporting small family producers in Burgundy.

Breeding
Ageing of 10 to 12 months, predominantly in stainless steel tanks
On the eye
Pale gold in colour with a luminous quality
On the nose
The bouquet reveals delicate floral notes—white flowers and hawthorn—interwoven with subtle citrus fruit and a mineral undertone characteristic of the limestone-rich soils of Viré-Clessé.
In the mouth
Mineral-driven and finely balanced. The palate is fresh and saline with good acidity, delivering a clean, precise finish. This is a wine of understated elegance rather than opulence.
M. Francois
An ideal aperitif wine, particularly suited to lighter fare—terrines, charcuterie, or simply on its own. The wine's mineral character and crisp acidity make it equally at home as a food wine with seafood or poultry dishes. A genuine expression of its terroir.
