A 5eme Cru Classé of enduring distinction

  • This wine displays considerable length on the palate, with tannins that have resolved into a seamless texture. The structure is well-balanced, revealing the careful élevage characteristic of the estate's traditional approach to winemaking.
  • A Haut-Médoc of genuine style and presence. Cantemerle demonstrates the gravelly terroir of the Left Bank with restraint and finesse, avoiding excess in favour of classical proportions and ageing potential.
  • A commendable expression from Château Cantemerle, showing the consistency and character expected of a classified growth. The 2022 vintage captures the estate's commitment to quality across a challenging vintage.

Product features : Chateau Cantemerle - 5eme Cru Classé 2022 — Haut-Médoc

In the mouth
The palate is generous and fleshy, with ripe fruit character supported by fine-grained tannins. The wine shows good mid-palate weight and a measured finish that invites contemplation rather than immediate consumption.
On the nose
The bouquet opens with red fruits—cherry and plum—complemented by discreet notes of dark chocolate and gentle spice. The aromatics are well-defined without excessive oak influence, suggesting a wine of balance and breeding.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby robe with good depth of colour and clarity.
M. Francois
This wine pairs naturally with roasted and grilled red meats, game birds, and venison. It will also complement mature hard cheeses and charcuterie. The structure suggests it will develop further over the next five to eight years, though it remains approachable in its youth. A versatile accompaniment to the British table.
