The signature expression of Hervé Bizeul, France's youngest Master Sommelier at twenty-one

  • A wine of considerable finesse, distinguished by a dry, smoky finish with genuine structure. The tannins are refined rather than aggressive, revealing the careful hand of a winemaker trained in the classical tradition.
  • Le Clos des Fees stands as a reference point within the Côtes du Roussillon appellation, recognised for consistent quality and a genuine understanding of the terroir's particular character and expression.
  • This vintage displays genuine ageing potential. The balance between fruit, acidity and tannin structure suggests the wine will develop further complexity over the coming years, rewarding patience with deeper, more nuanced flavours.

Product features : Le Clos des Fees la ou le Soleil Se Leve 2020 — Côtes du Rhône Villages

In the mouth
Powerful yet refined, with no sense of heaviness. The tannins are present but integrated, carrying the fruit through to a dry, persistent finish. The wine shows good acidity, which lifts and balances the structure throughout.
On the nose
Ripe red fruits—cherry and plum—with subtle herbal notes and a whisper of smoke. The aromatics are restrained and well-defined, suggesting careful élevage and handling.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby, with good depth of colour and clarity
Breeding
Burgundian style ageing, 8 to 10 months
M. Francois
A natural companion to game birds and duck. The wine's structure and subtle smoke notes complement the richness of magret de canard particularly well. Also suited to venison and other small game prepared in traditional French style. Best served at sixteen degrees Celsius.
