Ten generations cultivating calcareous clay terroir

  • The Bourgeois family has stewarded this prestigious Sancerre terroir for ten generations, their deep understanding of the calcareous clay soils evident in every vintage. Their commitment to the appellation's character remains unwavering.
  • A gastronomic wine of considerable refinement. The palate displays appealing softness and roundness, making it an exceptionally versatile companion to the table without sacrificing complexity or structure.
  • This vintage possesses genuine ageing potential, developing further complexity over seven to nine years in favourable conditions. It rewards patience, though it drinks with considerable pleasure upon release.

In the mouth
Soft, welcoming attack with pleasant roundness, underpinned by a fine mineral structure. The finish is fresh and saline, with excellent definition and length.
On the nose
Dried fruit, almond and pistachio notes, with zest of orange, subtle prune and a distinctive mineral backbone characteristic of the terroir
On the eye
Golden hue with pale amber undertones
Breeding
Aged in stainless steel on fine lees for 7 to 8 months then rested for 7 months
M. Francois
A wine of considerable gastronomic merit. Pairs beautifully with salmon in beurre blanc, roasted oysters, or the local Crottin de Chavignol cheese. Its mineral frame and saline finish make it equally at home with seafood preparations, poultry, or lighter fish courses.
