The nobility of Viognier, expressed with restraint

  • A serious Condrieu that merits a place in any thoughtful cellar. Domaine Bonnefond's Côte Chatillon demonstrates why this northern Rhône appellation commands respect among those who understand fine white wine.
  • Versatile across the table: aperitif freshness, seafood companion, or alongside lighter poultry dishes. The wine's structure and aromatic complexity reward both contemplative sipping and food pairing.
  • Oak integration here is judicious rather than dominating. The winemakers have allowed the Viognier's natural character to emerge, with wood providing subtle depth rather than masking the fruit.

Product features : Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu Cote Chatillon 2022

Breeding
Vinified and aged on fine lees in 400-litre barrels for 10 months
On the eye
Golden yellow with bright, luminous reflections
On the nose
Intense aromatic bouquet revealing stone fruit, white flowers, and mineral notes. The nose speaks of terroir and careful winemaking, with no aggressive oak.
In the mouth
Savoury and refined on the palate. The finish is long and graceful, with a subtle waxy texture characteristic of mature Viognier. Acidity provides excellent definition.
M. Francois
Scallops in cream sauce find an ideal partner here. The wine's richness complements the sweetness of the shellfish whilst its acidity cuts through the sauce with precision. Also consider roasted white fish, poultry with butter-based sauces, or aged Comté cheese.
