  • The principal Grenache of the appellation finds its voice through the addition of Syrah, creating a wine of genuine character and depth. This is a blend that respects both the fruit and the place from which it comes.
  • The wine's fresh acidity and savoury undertones make it an ideal companion to Corsican charcuterie and cured meats. Its elegance extends equally well to Mediterranean cuisine and rustic country fare.

In the mouth
Suave and dynamic on the palate, with notable freshness and concentration. Red-fleshed fruit flavours are sustained by a mineral backbone and delicate liquorice notes. The finish is clean and lingering.
On the nose
Aromatic expression centres on wild strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant, with subtle notes of blueberry. The bouquet is fresh and open, speaking of ripe fruit handled with restraint.
On the eye
Bright carmine-red with raspberry-tinged reflections. Clear and inviting.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine Rhône character, neither over-extracted nor over-oaked. The organic credentials are evident in its purity and balance. Serve with Corsican charcuterie, grilled vegetables, or simple roasted meats. Approachable now, but will develop gracefully over the next three to five years.

LE CLOS DU CAILLOU

Le Clos du Caillou is a wine estate in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation (Southern Rhône). Run by Sylvie Vacheron and Bruno Gaspard. Around 53 hectares. Grapes: Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault (reds), Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc (whites). Organically farmed. Cuvées: Les Quartz, Les Safres, Reserve. Wines of great depth and complexity.
