The majesty of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, expressed through organic viticulture

  • La Reine des Bois is an organic Châteauneuf-du-Pape of considerable character, crafted from mature vines tended according to organic principles. This approach yields an authentic expression of one of the Rhône's most celebrated terroirs, without compromise to flavour or structure.
  • The blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah creates a wine of power tempered by refinement. Dark berry fruit, leather and garrigue notes develop on the palate, supported by silken tannins and a sustained finish that speaks to careful winemaking and the wine's inherent complexity.
  • This is a wine built for the cellar and for the table. It will accompany red meats, game and substantial sauces with distinction, whilst its environmental credentials reflect a philosophy that respects both vineyard and consumer.

In the mouth
Rich and generous on the palate, with powerful yet refined tannins. Ripe dark fruits, liquorice, black pepper and cocoa notes are balanced by a refreshing acidity that prevents heaviness and extends the finish with elegance and persistence.
On the nose
Intense and layered bouquet revealing dark cherry, plum and leather, with undertones of garrigue, black pepper and forest floor. The aromatics develop gradually, suggesting a wine of considerable ageing potential.
On the eye
Deep purple robe with garnet highlights; dense and luminous.
Breeding
Aged 12 to 18 months in oak barrels, imparting complexity and structure whilst preserving the expression of fruit and terroir
M. Francois
La Reine des Bois represents Domaine de la Mordoree at its finest—a wine of genuine nobility that marries power with restraint. Its aromatic depth and cellaring potential make it an excellent choice for significant occasions or for the serious collector. Here is a great wine that honours both the vineyard and the natural world, rewarding patience with remarkable complexity.
