Five generations of Burgundy winemaking heritage

  • This Premier Cru draws from two mature vineyard parcels—one approaching forty years of age, the other around thirty—whose combined character yields a wine of considerable depth and complexity. The careful selection reflects the house's commitment to terroir expression.
  • A wine of substance and roundness, with the structure and richness characteristic of well-sited Pommard. The palate carries both weight and refinement, speaking to careful viticulture and measured élevage in the cellar.
  • Argillieres occupies a respected position within Pommard's Premier Cru hierarchy, known for wines that age gracefully and reward patience. This vintage demonstrates the appellation's capacity for elegance alongside power.

In the mouth
The palate reveals mature, delicate tannins that provide structure without harshness. The wine carries good length and a natural balance between fruit and mineral character, with a dry finish of some persistence.
On the nose
Red fruit character predominates—cherry and redcurrant—with subtle secondary notes developing as the wine opens. The bouquet speaks of ripe fruit and careful handling rather than extraction.
On the eye
Bright ruby with good depth of colour
M. Francois
This wine shows its best alongside game dishes of substance—venison with redcurrant jelly would be an excellent pairing, allowing the wine's structure and fruit to complement the richness of the meat. Equally suited to beef preparations of similar weight. Drinking well now, though it will continue to develop over the next five to eight years.
