In the mouth
Tannat provides a full-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins and excellent structure. The wine is powerful yet elegant, with layers of dark fruit and spice leading to a persistent, refined finish.
On the nose
The bouquet is perfumed and generous, dominated by ripe dark fruits—blackberry and cassis—with a whisper of spice and subtle oak influence. The aromatics evolve with air exposure.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with excellent clarity and luminosity.
Breeding
Ageing on lees for 12 to 14 months in new oak barrels at 60/80%.
M. Francois
This wine pairs admirably with game—particularly duck—spiced oriental cuisine, beef preparations, and lamb dishes. It will reward cellaring for a decade or more, developing further complexity and integration of its component parts.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
