Alain Brumont's contemporary expression of Madiran

  • Torus reveals the character of Madiran through a modern lens. Dark fruit and spice aromatics define this wine, which balances freshness with the structure the appellation is known for.
  • This is Madiran reimagined for contemporary palates—fruit-forward and spiced, yet retaining the depth and grip that distinguish the region's finest expressions.
  • Sourced from vines under twenty years old across the Montus and Bouscassé terroirs, Torus captures the vigour and precision of younger plantings in these hallowed vineyards.

Breeding
One year's ageing in vats on fine lees
On the eye
Ruby-red robe with bright, youthful intensity
On the nose
Aromas of dark berries—blackcurrant and plum—interwoven with white pepper and subtle spice. The nose speaks of fruit purity and careful handling through élevage.
In the mouth
Fleshy and rounded on the palate, with ripe dark fruit balanced by peppery spice and a mineral undertone. Volume and texture are well-judged; the finish is clean and persistent.
M. Francois
Torus is an ideal companion for informal gatherings and robust fare: grilled meats, entrecôte, pork chops, and Asian-inflected dishes all find harmony with its fruit-forward character and spiced complexity. Drink with friends, without ceremony.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
