A true expression of Morgon's distinctive character

  • Jean-Paul Brun has established himself as one of Beaujolais' most respected vignerons. This Morgon demonstrates his refined approach to the appellation, balancing the natural vigour of Gamay with careful élevage to reveal the wine's essential character.
  • Morgon, the most structured of the Beaujolais Crus, benefits from granite-rich soils that impart mineral precision. This vintage showcases the appellation's capacity for depth and complexity, with dark fruit flavours and a subtle spice that speaks to terroir rather than manipulation.
  • We work directly with family producers like Jean-Paul Brun, allowing us to offer wines of genuine quality without the commercial markup of larger négociants. This represents fair value for a wine of this calibre and provenance.

In the mouth
The palate is generous yet balanced, with red fruit character sustained through the mid-palate and finishing with soft spice notes and fine, integrated tannins
On the nose
Ripe red and dark berries—raspberry and blackberry—with undertones of plum and a whisper of white pepper and dried herbs that emerge with aeration
On the eye
Deep ruby red with a lustrous quality
M. Francois
Morgon rewards a thoughtful approach to food pairing. Serve it alongside roasted or braised beef, game birds, or substantial charcuterie. The wine's natural acidity and moderate alcohol make it equally rewarding with well-seasoned dishes. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the wine to open fully. Drink now through 2027.
