Cabernet Sauvignon majoritairement, Merlot, Cabernet-Franc, Petit Verdot

The Delon family's benchmark Médoc from a celebrated Bordeaux house

  • The Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone: firm structure, ripe tannins, and a compelling core of dark berry fruit with hints of graphite.
  • Merlot contributes roundness and a softer, more voluptuous mid-palate with notes of plum and red cherry, tempering the wine's natural austerity.
  • Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add complexity and further definition to the finish, lending spice and a subtle herbaceous character that extends the length.

In the mouth
Solidly structured and well-defined on the palate. The tannins are ripe and integrated, the acidity bright, and the finish persistent. A wine of good breeding and restraint.
On the nose
Aromas of blackcurrant and plum lead, followed by black pepper, dried herbs, and a whisper of graphite. The bouquet is composed and layered, developing with air.
On the eye
Deep carmine, with good intensity and a fine rim that speaks to the wine's maturity and balance.
Breeding
Oak barrels for 12 to 18 months
M. Francois
This is a wine of genuine substance—not showy, but rewarding. It pairs beautifully with the cheeses of the Médoc region, particularly aged Comté and local tommes. It will also serve well alongside roasted game, beef, and charcuterie. Drink now or cellar for a further five to eight years.

CHATEAU POTENSAC

Set at Ordonnac on the high ground of the North Médoc, Château Potensac extends across 84 hectares of clay-gravel ridges over a limestone subsoil, at the heart of the Médoc appellation. Passed down through generations of Delon women, this château produces exclusively red wines blending Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Petit Verdot — assembled with a precision and consistency that have made it one of the most reliable addresses in the Médoc. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the integrity of its terroir, the rigour of its blending, and the proven ability of its wines to age with real distinction. A dependable choice for those who seek the Médoc in its most classical expression.
