On the eye
Deep purple-black in youth, evolving towards a noble dark ruby with garnet highlights as it matures.
On the nose
A powerful, earthy bouquet dominated by dark fruits—cassis, wild blackberry and bilberry. The signature Gruaud aromatics emerge: liquorice, violet and a whisper of fresh leather.
In the mouth
A muscular, well-defined palate. The tannins are abundant and firm, yet possess genuine nobility. This is a wine with substance and impressive structure, demanding patience and proper cellaring.
