From the proprietor of Église-Clinet and Montlandrie

  • This Lalande de Pomerol emerges from the finest terroirs of the Right Bank, where clay and iron-rich soils impart depth and structure. Denis Durantou's stewardship ensures consistency and character across his portfolio.
  • The wine achieves a harmonious balance between freshness and richness, with well-integrated tannins and a measured alcohol level that allows the fruit to shine without heaviness.
  • A genuine expression of terroir, this wine reflects the specific character of its appellation—neither over-extracted nor manipulated, but true to its origins and vintage.

Product features : Château "La Chenade" 2021 Lalande de Pomerol

In the mouth
Fresh attack with a supple, rounded mid-palate. The finish carries toasted notes with fine-grained tannins that suggest good cellaring potential
On the nose
Ripe red and dark fruit aromas—cherry and plum—with subtle secondary notes emerging as the wine opens in the glass
On the eye
Bright, luminous ruby with good depth of colour and clarity
Breeding
Ageing in oak barrels with 30% new wood
M. Francois
Serve this wine with roasted beef and béarnaise, or with game such as venison. The wine's structure and acidity make it equally at home with sautéed mushrooms or duck confit. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the aromatics to develop fully.

CHÂTEAU LA CHENADE

Situated in Lalande-de-Pomerol, on Bordeaux's Right Bank, Château la Chenade is a red wine assembled from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown on clay-gravel and sandy soils. The name is a tribute by Denis Durantou to his great-grandparents, who owned vines near the lieu-dit la Chênaie — a family connection that runs through to the vineyard selection itself, as this wine is drawn from the young vines of Château Les Cruzelles. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the integrity of the Durantou family approach, its clear appellation character, and the honest expression it delivers in this Pomerol neighbour. A compelling introduction to the Right Bank.
