A wine best approached with patience and cellaring in mind.

  • A complex and structured wine of considerable depth, marked by freshness and power in equal measure. The first wine of Château Sociando-Mallet represents an essential addition to any serious cellar, combining classical Médoc character with the house's distinctive style.
  • This is the principal expression of Château Sociando-Mallet, crafted from the finest parcels of the estate. It embodies the terroir of Haut-Médoc with precision and restraint, offering the complexity and ageing potential expected of fine Bordeaux.
  • For those who appreciate fine wine without pretension, this vintage offers considerable merit. It represents the kind of thoughtful winemaking that rewards patience and proper cellaring, rather than immediate gratification.

Product features : Chateau Sociando-Mallet 2021 — Haut-Médoc

In the mouth
Rich and dense on the palate with well-integrated, supple tannins that provide structure without harshness. The wine shows good concentration and length, with a dry finish that invites contemplation rather than immediate consumption.
On the nose
Refined and elegant on the nose, with red and dark fruit character tempered by mineral notes. The bouquet develops with air, revealing hints of graphite and cedar that speak to the wine's breeding and structure.
On the eye
Garnet robe with good depth and clarity.
M. Francois
This wine pairs admirably with charcuterie and pâtés, red and white meats, game birds and venison, and mature cheeses. It would be equally at home alongside a simple côte de boeuf or a more elaborate game terrine. Allow adequate cellaring before opening; the wine will continue to develop over the coming decade.
