The second wine of one of Médoc's most venerable estates

  • This is the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases, one of the oldest and most respected properties in the Médoc. It offers the house style with approachability and finesse, crafted from the finest parcels not selected for the grand vin.
  • The wine displays a harmonious tannin structure, neither austere nor over-extracted. The balance between fruit, oak and tannin reflects careful élevage and the terroir of Saint-Julien, delivering a wine of genuine breeding.
  • A refined Saint-Julien with considerable length on the palate. The wine unfolds gracefully, revealing layers of dark fruit and subtle spice, with a finish that lingers with elegance and restraint.

Product features : Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2021 — Saint-Julien

In the mouth
Supple and silky on entry, with an ample structure supported by fine, well-integrated tannins. The mid-palate shows good weight without heaviness, whilst the finish is clean and persistent.
On the nose
The bouquet offers ripe blackcurrant and plum, with creamy oak undertones and hints of graphite. The aromatics are restrained and classic, developing complexity as the wine opens.
On the eye
Deep, intense ruby. A colour that speaks of concentration and ripe fruit.
Breeding
Aged ten months in oak barrels (approximately 10% new).
M. Francois
This wine will shine alongside duck ballottine, roasted veal, or a well-chosen cheese board. Its balance and elegance make it equally suited to casual dining or more formal occasions. Drink now through 2035.
