A singular assemblage from three Burgundy estates

  • Jean-Marie Guffens brings together the finest parcels from his three domains: a richly textured Sémillon from Closiot, exotic Roussanne and Viognier from Les Tourettes, and secondary pressings of Chardonnay from the main estate. The result is a wine of considerable character and individuality.
  • This is the winemaker's personal vision realised with considerable success—a wine that reflects his philosophy of working freely with the finest fruit at hand, without constraint of appellation or convention.
  • Les Halles de Quercamps offers this wine at the domaine's own terms, allowing you to experience Guffens' work without the customary merchant markup.

Product features : Guffens le Triangle de Guffens 2019 — Vin de France

In the mouth
The palate reveals considerable richness and roundness, with the weight and texture one expects from Sémillon and Roussanne. A lively acidity runs through the wine, providing balance, vibrancy and energy that prevents any heaviness. The finish is clean and persistent.
On the nose
Inviting notes of citrus and stone fruits with an almost exotic character, white flowers, and a subtle toasted undertone. The aromatics are complex and layered, speaking to the wine's composite nature.
On the eye
Brilliant golden yellow
Breeding
In oak barrels, 25% new wood
M. Francois
The wine's richness and textural breadth make it an excellent companion to seafood dishes with citrus elements—a ceviche of sea bream with lime, for instance, would be a natural pairing. Its weight and acidity also suit richer fish preparations and white meat dishes with subtle sauces.
