Fifth Growth Pauillac: structured elegance from mature vines

  • Planted to an average vine age of approximately thirty years, with select parcels considerably older, the vineyard provides the concentration and complexity characteristic of Lynch-Bages at its finest.
  • The château has long established itself through the production of wines of considerable structure and depth, built to age gracefully and reward patience in the cellar.
  • The 2020 vintage offers a refined expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, the dominant variety, with the mineral precision and dark fruit intensity that define the finest Pauillac terroir.

Product features : Chateau Lynch-Bages - 5eme Cru Classé 2020 — Pauillac

In the mouth
Rich and fruit-forward on the palate, with ripe black fruit supported by fine-grained tannins and a whisper of spice through the mid-palate and finish.
On the nose
Cassis and dark berries mingle with liquorice and tobacco leaf, layered with subtle oak influence and mineral undertones characteristic of the Left Bank.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby, clear and luminous in the glass.
Breeding
Aged 12 to 15 months in barrels, of which 50% to 80% are new oak, depending on the vintage
M. Francois
A wine of genuine structure and poise, well suited to game dishes—roasted pigeon with spring peas would be an excellent pairing—or to mature beef preparations. The balance between fruit and tannin suggests a drinking window of ten to twenty years ahead.
