The hallmark of Alain Brumont's winemaking craft

  • A Vieilles Vignes expression of considerable refinement, drawing from vines aged 50 to 100 years. The wine demonstrates the harmonious character and delicate fruit expression that distinguishes mature vineyard parcels in Madiran.
  • Sourced from ancient vines that have accumulated decades of complexity in the Madiran terroir. This age brings depth and subtlety to the wine's structure, moving beyond the raw power sometimes associated with younger plantings.
  • A serious wine of considerable ageing potential. Bouscasse's reputation rests upon wines built for the cellar, and this vintage exemplifies the house's commitment to producing Madiran of genuine longevity and development.

Product features : Chateau Bouscasse Vieilles Vignes - Madiran 2010

Breeding
Aged on lees in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months.
On the eye
Deep ruby-garnet with violet-tinged rim. A dark, concentrated appearance suggesting considerable structure.
On the nose
Elegant and restrained on the nose. Wild berry fruit mingles with cigar leaf and mocha notes, creating a sophisticated aromatic profile that evolves with air.
In the mouth
The palate is harmonious and substantial, offering refined dark fruit character—particularly blackberry—supported by integrated, supple tannins. Good volume and length without heaviness.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine versatility at table. Pair with game birds such as duck, beef and lamb preparations, or spiced dishes where the wine's structure provides balance. Also complements chocolate-based desserts with red fruit components. Drink now or cellar for further development.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
