In the mouth
Round and dense on the palate, with lively acidity that carries through to a clean, mineral finish. The wine shows good structure and persistence.
On the nose
Ripe stone fruit and subtle toasted notes combine with pronounced mineral character, revealing the granite bedrock beneath the vineyard.

Breeding
Eleven months on lees without racking. Twenty per cent new oak and eighty per cent in barrels of three to five years old.
Drink now through 2024. The wine's balance and mineral drive make it an ideal companion to shellfish, goat's cheese, and poultry. Its freshness and structure suggest it will age gracefully for those who prefer to cellar it further.

Domaine François Villard is a wine estate in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône (Loire), Northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1989 by François Villard (co-founder of Les Vins de Vienne). Around 35 hectares. Grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne. Appellations: Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. Precise, aromatic terroir wines.
