The refinement of Pessac-Léognan in a distinguished second wine

  • The second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, one of Pessac-Léognan's finest classified growths. This wine inherits the estate's exacting standards whilst offering earlier approachability than the grand vin.
  • A classic Bordeaux blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, crafted to achieve balance and elegance. The structure allows for enjoyment in its youth whilst retaining genuine ageing potential.
  • An expression of Pessac-Léognan's distinctive gravelly terroir, this wine combines power with refinement. More accessible than the château's principal offering, it remains a serious wine of genuine complexity and length.

M. Francois
La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is a second wine of considerable standing, demonstrating the château's mastery of its terroir. The balance between power and finesse yields genuine aromatic complexity, supported by supple tannins and a sustained finish. Excellent with red meat, game and sauced dishes. For those seeking the essence of Pessac-Léognan through a more accessible, near-term drinking wine that nonetheless possesses respectable cellaring potential.
