Where tradition meets the terroir of Chitry

  • A wine of considerable freshness and clarity. This Bourgogne Chitry expresses the mineral character of its limestone-rich terroir with elegant restraint, offering a clean, vibrant profile that speaks to the precision of the vintage.
  • Maison Simonnet-Febvre draws on nearly two centuries of winemaking heritage, enriched by association with the esteemed Maison Louis Latour. This continuity of expertise ensures consistent quality and respect for Burgundian tradition.
  • One hundred per cent Chardonnay from the Beaunois region of Burgundy. The variety reveals its characteristic complexity here: a balance of stone fruit, subtle herbaceous notes, and the distinctive salinity that defines the finest expressions of this noble cépage.

Product features : Maison Simonnet-Febvre Bourgogne Chitry 2018

In the mouth
Crisp and well-defined on the palate. The acidity is lively but balanced, carrying flavours of green apple and white stone fruits through to a clean, mineral finish. The structure is elegant rather than weighty, with good length and persistence.
On the nose
Discreet and refined. White flowers and citrus notes emerge first, followed by subtle mineral undertones and a hint of hazelnut. The bouquet develops with aeration, revealing the wine's underlying complexity without ostentation.
On the eye
Pale gold with greenish glints; clear and bright.
Breeding
The expertise of this estate established in 1840, combined with fermentation in stainless steel and ageing in vat for 6 to 8 months, gives this Bourgogne Chitry the character of its appellation.
M. Francois
This Bourgogne Chitry is a natural companion to shellfish and white fish preparations, where its minerality and acidity provide excellent counterpoint. It performs equally well with lighter terrines, asparagus dishes, and as an aperitif wine. The freshness makes it versatile at table, particularly suited to spring and summer entertaining.
