Deep ruby red with violet glints, displaying the colour intensity typical of well-ripened Cabernet-based wines.
On the nose
Complex bouquet revealing ripe dark berries—blackcurrant and damson—with a subtle hint of toasted oak. The aromatics are refined rather than exuberant, inviting closer examination.
In the mouth
Juicy attack with well-defined structure. The wine balances fruit-forward character with silky, fully integrated tannins. The finish is persistently fruity, leaving a clean, elegant impression.
This is quintessential Graves: restrained, finely drawn, and deeply infused with terroir character. The wine prioritises elegance and complexity over extraction. CHATEAU COUHINS-LURTON
Set on the plateau of Villenave-d'Ornon in Pessac-Léognan, Château Couhins-Lurton covers 21 hectares of argilo-calcareous and clay-gravel soils at the heart of one of Bordeaux's most distinguished appellations. Known as the 'Bourdieu de la Gravette' in the late 17th century, it was leased by André Lurton in 1967 and fully acquired in 1992; classified Grand Cru de Graves for its whites since 1959, it is a benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc-led Pessac-Léognan alongside Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the precision of its white Pessac-Léognan, the consistency of its élevage, and the rigorous standards of the Vignobles Famille André Lurton. A reference for lovers of great white Bordeaux.
