Elegance and refinement from the Graves

  • A classically styled Pessac-Léognan that exemplifies the finesse characteristic of the Graves appellation. The wine demonstrates careful winemaking with well-integrated structure and a focus on elegance rather than power.
  • The 2017 vintage offers a harmonious balance between ripe dark fruit and subtle oak influence. Silky tannins provide structure without dominating, whilst the persistent fruity finish invites contemplation.
  • An ideal accompaniment to game birds, particularly roasted partridge with grapes. The wine's refined character and moderate weight make it versatile with autumn cuisine and lighter meat courses.

Breeding
Aged 12 months in barrels (40% new oak)
On the eye
Deep ruby red with violet glints, displaying the colour intensity typical of well-ripened Cabernet-based wines.
On the nose
Complex bouquet revealing ripe dark berries—blackcurrant and damson—with a subtle hint of toasted oak. The aromatics are refined rather than exuberant, inviting closer examination.
In the mouth
Juicy attack with well-defined structure. The wine balances fruit-forward character with silky, fully integrated tannins. The finish is persistently fruity, leaving a clean, elegant impression.
M. Francois
This is quintessential Graves: restrained, finely drawn, and deeply infused with terroir character. The wine prioritises elegance and complexity over extraction. Excellent with roasted game birds, particularly partridge with grapes, or fine charcuterie. Drinking well now, with potential for modest further development.
