One third barrels, one third large wooden vats, one third concrete tanks for 12 months
On the eye
Deep ruby with violet reflections, suggesting maturity and concentration
On the nose
Cassis and dark cherry lead, with hints of blackberry and subtle oak. The aromatics are restrained and classical, inviting rather than showy.
In the mouth
Cassis and plum dominate, with notes of dark cherry and a discreet touch of oak. The tannins are ripe and integrated, the finish clean and persistent. A wine of balance and breeding.
Chateau Thieuley 2016 pairs beautifully with charcuterie—particularly the cured meats of the Bordeaux region itself. It is equally at home with roasted game, beef, or mature cheeses. A versatile table wine that improves with decanting. Drink now through 2028.
