WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | FRONSAC
Bottle of : 0.75L
Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 80%

Named for the Dauphin's consort, a wine of classical elegance

  • The wine's backbone is Merlot, providing structure and depth. The variety's natural richness is evident in the wine's generous mid-palate and the supple tannin framework that gives the wine its characteristic elegance and approachability.
  • Cabernet Franc contributes brightness and a subtle spice character that lifts the palate. These aromatic notes provide counterpoint to the Merlot's power, creating a harmonious whole that rewards contemplation.
  • The vineyard holds HVE (High Environmental Value) certification since 2018 and transitioned to organic viticulture in 2019. This commitment to sustainable practice is reflected in the wine's purity and balance.

Product features : Chateau de la Dauphine 2016 — Fronsac

In the mouth
Considerable aromatic presence on the palate, with silky tannins that have evolved gracefully over eight years. The wine shows good length, with lingering notes of red fruit and a whisper of liquorice on the finish.
On the nose
The bouquet is complex and intense, opening with red fruit aromas—cherry and plum—followed by subtle spice notes and hints of graphite that speak to the terroir's mineral character.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby, with a deep garnet rim suggesting maturity and complexity
Breeding
12 months with 30% new oak
M. Francois
This is a wine that has reached a pleasant maturity. It would be most rewarding served alongside game dishes—a roasted partridge with lentils would be an excellent pairing. The wine's structure and spice complement such preparations admirably. Decant gently and serve at 16–17°C.
