Seven generations of Burgundy winemaking excellence

  • A wine of genuine ageing potential. Over time, the palate will develop honeyed notes and the character of ripe pear, whilst the mineral backbone remains firm and defining.
  • The hallmark of this Chassagne is its balance: natural richness tempered by mineral precision, neither heavy nor austere, but poised and complete.
  • A natural companion to delicate white fish — poached or steamed sole, turbot, or sea bass — and equally at home with poultry in cream sauces.

In the mouth
The palate is marked by a clean, saline minerality — flinty and precise — which balances the wine's natural richness and lends it considerable structure and length.
On the nose
Floral and herbal character dominates: hawthorn, acacia, and honeysuckle, with secondary notes of verbena and hazelnut emerging as the wine opens.
On the eye
Typical of fine Chardonnay: a pale gold colour with green-tinged reflections.
Breeding
10 months in barrel then 2 months in tank (10 to 15% new oak)
M. Francois
I have long admired Didier Delagrange's approach to Chassagne. This 2015 is a fine example: it pairs beautifully with poached chicken breast in a light mushroom velouté, where its mineral edge cuts through the cream without dominating. A wine that rewards patience; drink now or lay down with confidence.
