An expression of terroir and careful winemaking

  • This 2014 Poujeaux offers a rounded, juicy character with genuine expressiveness. The wine unfolds with natural elegance, revealing layers of dark fruit and subtle mineral complexity that reward careful attention.
  • A wine of considerable depth and density, yet never heavy-handed. The structure is refined, the tannins integrated, and the overall impression one of understated sophistication and balance.
  • The blend demonstrates thoughtful assembly of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, each component contributing to a harmonious whole rather than competing for attention.

In the mouth
Mineral-driven palate with good structure and definition. Peppery notes provide welcome depth and complexity, whilst the tannins remain supple and well-integrated throughout the finish.
On the nose
The bouquet opens with blackberry and blueberry, layered with cassis and subtle spice. Silky tannins frame the aromatics, suggesting a wine of refinement and careful élevage.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with the richness characteristic of mature Moulis.
Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine versatility at table. Consider it alongside roasted lamb, coq au vin, or mushroom risotto. It will also complement aged cheeses of character. The 2014 vintage shows the restraint and balance that distinguish Poujeaux in this appellation.
