Breeding
On lees, in stainless steel for the grenaches and clairettes and in barrels (three-quarters new oak) with stirring for the roussannes, for 7 months
On the eye
Pale yellow with greenish glints
On the nose
Orchard fruits dominate—peaches and white-fleshed stone fruits with hints of exotic fruit. Clean, mineral-edged aromatics suggest limestone and chalk.
In the mouth
Subtle notes of brioche and vanilla add textural richness without overwhelming the palate. The Clairette component provides a refreshing counterpoint to the Grenache's generosity.
A gastronomic wine of genuine distinction: rich yet remarkably aerated, with authentic terroir expression. The Clairette's freshness cuts through the wine's weight, cleansing the palate beautifully. This is no standardised white, but a wine of real character. Excellent with sole or sea bream cooked on the skin.

Domaine de la Janasse is a wine estate in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Courthézon (Vaucluse). Founded in 1973 by Aimé Sabon. Around 90 hectares of vines. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault. Single-vineyard cuvées: Vieilles Vignes, Chaupin. Wines capture the diversity of terroirs across the appellation. Available at Les Halles de Quercamps.
