  • A wine of considerable length on the palate, distinguished by its seamlessly integrated tannins. This is a Haut-Médoc that commands respect through understated refinement rather than sheer power.
  • Cantemerle demonstrates the classical balance that defines the finest Médoc estates. The wine displays both substance and finesse, rewarding patient cellaring with layers of developing complexity.

Product features : Chateau Cantemerle - 5eme Cru Classé 2017 — Haut-Médoc

In the mouth
The palate is generously weighted without excess, with ripe, well-structured tannins providing a firm backbone. The mid-palate shows good concentration, whilst the finish remains clean and persistent.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with red fruit character—cassis and cherry predominant—complemented by discreet notes of dark chocolate and warm spice. The aromatics develop with air, revealing further complexity.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby robe with good depth and clarity, suggesting a wine of substance and careful vinification.
M. Francois
A wine of considerable versatility at table. Cantemerle pairs naturally with roasted red meats and game birds, whilst its structure and acidity make it equally suited to mature cheeses. The wine will develop further complexity over the next decade, though it may be approached with pleasure now. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the wine to fully express itself.
