Borie De Maurel

The vines of Borie de Maurel cling tenaciously to the rocky slopes of the Montagne Noire. This unique terroir, known for centuries as the "Petit Causse," is so distinctive that it gave birth in 1999 to the AOC La Livinière, the first village appellation of the Languedoc region. Spread over 35 hectares of diverse terrain—ranging from sun-warmed soils to high-altitude plots—this estate is masterfully run by Michel Escande, a winemaker who discovered his passion later in life. Here at Les Halles, we can’t help but wonder how remarkable it would have been had he grown up among the vines !

Minervois Rouge
