Reconnue en 1977, elle s'étend sur plus de 20 000 hectares, embrassant les départements du Var, des Bouches-du-Rhône et un village des Alpes-Maritimes. Le terroir varié des Côtes de Provence, alternant entre zones calcaires au nord et ouest et cristallines au sud et est, façonne des vins rouges distinctifs.
