Cette appellation est un joyau de la viticulture française. S'étendant sur la rive droite du Rhône, elle touche une cinquantaine de communes ardéchoises et quelques-unes dans la Loire. Dominée par le cépage Syrah, cette appellation donne naissance à des vins rouges intenses et profonds. Ceux-ci charment par leurs arômes de fruits noirs, d'épices et occasionnellement de violette.
